Get Ready to Add the Buzzball to Next Year’s Wish List

Posted by Queuebot in Gadget, Sports, Toy & Video Games on January 26, 2009 at 11:47 pm

Grab your barf bag and get ready to strap yourself into the Buzzball. Best described as a hamster ball for humans, the Buzzball delivers a unique rollercoaster ride where the pilot is in complete control of the ride experience.

The product is still in the development phase but looks like a blast. The Buzzball is a dual motor configuration that enables its pilot to control the motion and direction of travel via control triggers and provides power to the driving wheels. The amount of power each wheel receives determines the Buzzball’s direction of movement.

Y'know, I heard of something like this for the Reversing Falls in Saint John, NB.

It was some tourist thing where you could go in a giant clear hamster ball and travel up the falls. I can't find any info on it, though, so maybe it isn't around anymore. I could have sworn I saw a site for it once...

I member from way back this bloke who created a fighter game that sat inside a ball like above. The ball sat on a cushion of air (like those beachballs you may have seen sitting on vacuum cleaners on reverse). As you 'flew' the game and your point of reference to the ground changed, so the ball would change its position to mimic this.

It looked so fantastic. I wanted one. I still do. Alas, it discapeared into the void.

Anyone remember the game "Atlasphere" from American Gladiators? WE could take that game to a whole new level with these things.
