Keeping Tabs On The President

Whether you love Obama or hate him, you'll be happy to know there is now a tool to track how he has lived up to his campaign promises.

The Obameter has a compiled list of about 500 promises he made during the election run and it records if he: kept the promise, compromised, broke the promise, stalled the promise, is in the works on the issue or has not taken action on the promise. So far he's stalled one, compromised on one and kept five, but it will be nice to see how he does in the long run.

I wish we had these for every president. I'd love to know how Kennedy, Lincoln or Andrew Jackson did on their promises.

Link Via Good Magazine

Where can I find the website that tracks his every move via GPS units and video cameras? Seriously, I'm wanting to keep a stalkers log of when he eats, sleeps, shaves, poops, etc.. I mean he is the messiah and all.

Really though, I've been reading neatorama for a couple years now and this has gone way past the point of absurdity. I know you couldn't care less about my threats but I honestly think I'm done with neat-obama-rama. There's nothing "neat" about posting useless crap about this dead horse every single day. It’s just flat out silly. If I wanted to wank off to Obama’s existence I would google-image tab his name.

Now that I’ve got that off my chest does anybody have a link for a good picture/video blog without an political agenda? If so PLEASE post it. Also something with interesting articles along the lines of The Bathroom Reader or Mental Floss? Thanks.

Everyone who isn't a white American who voted for Obama, who wants to see ALL of his merchandise even if its just a pile of dog excrements with his name written on it and who wants to read some redundant news article about him every four hour is going to be pissed off about this show here.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
I personally don't see how this is "useless crap", neatoman. Some people actually DO think it is neat to be informed regarding politics and current affairs. He's the president. He's making policy that affects us all.

Thank you, Neatorama, for bringing this to my attention. I'll be checking the Obamameter regularly.

"I wish we had these for every president. I’d love to know how Kennedy, Lincoln or Andrew Jackson did on their promises."

there is, but to you Generation WE technotards it may be tedious, see there are these things called BOOKS, printed on paper, you READ them, now stay with me, its called H-I-S-T-O-R-Y

jesus, just get a room with the "head of state" dildo will ya

I think it is awesome. Finally we'll have some real data to confirm if he really is all smoke and mirrors with a nice face or if he'll really follow through with his socialist agenda.

lol, I like how people think we should rename the site "whateverIdon'tlikepostsabout.com" People have suggest catorama.com and now obamarama.com. Hehe.

I think the posters have been posting about what going on in the world. For example, posts about the election before, and now Obama because it's inauguration month.

That being said.... I do prefer neatorama posts about wacky, fun, silly stuff, and not stuff about the news (whether politics, disaters, etc). There's so many other sites that do that. It's my opinion that neatorama would stay truer to itself to eschew such posts and stick to the mostly "neat".

And cat videos fall into that category! (but so do many other things. :P)

Dear Jabobs,

"Some people actually DO think it is neat to be informed regarding politics and current affairs..."

2 things:
- "Neatorama is not a political blog" - I bet I’ve read this statement by neato-posters at least 20 times.
- If you stay "informed regarding politics" from a blog like neatorama.com, well.. do I really need to say more? You get it, right?

1 question:
- You said "I’ll be checking the Obamameter regularly", right? Since you believe that information to be useful, what will you truly and honestly do with that information once you've gathered it? Get in the Deloren with Doc Brown, gun it to 88, and not vote for him this time?
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
I don't see the problem with Obama related posts, most have been quite ammusing if you ask me. How about if McCain won? Would you be offended to see stuff like this revolving around McCain? Chances are there wouldn't be, but just because you didn't vote for him would it be unappealing to see it? If there was a listing of facts about McCains cars or houses, I wouldn't be offended. It's just there.

Try 'google.com'

Good luck!

Gauldar, Thank you for the suggestion.

I went to this "google.com" you speak of and changed my mind on what I wanted to read. Instead I did a search for "liberal orgy blog/Barrack Obama masturbation material.”

Needless to say I’m right back where I started here on neat-obama-rama.com! That darn feeling lucky button!
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
Great, good luck with fapping off to those nude pictures of Sarah Palin sprawled across a dead moose. I'm surprised you don't share Jill Harness's opinion that it's about time we hold a cheese grater to a president's buttocks and make's sure he follows up on his rhetoric. The world is full of crap, it's about time we stop rolling around in it and take some responsibility by picking up a shovel.

"Neatorama is not a political blog."

The crazy amount of politically related material is leading me to believe otherwise. Please neatorama, stop posting things that have a political bent to them. The majority of us are getting annoyed and fed up with it. I can't speak for the majority of us, but I am tired of hearing/reading/seeing news and posts about Obama. I come here to try and get away from that, and here you are slappin his name and face up everywhere. Your readers don't want to leave, but we starting to think our time can be wasted more to our liking someplace else.

I'm going to start coming back FIVE times a day more than I used to, because I LOVE all the Obama stories & find the whiners pathetic! Keep up the excellent work Neat-o-rama!!
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
No no, Dr. Jones.

It's you and I that are the crazy ones for thinking there is too much politcal sh*t on neatorama. I gave up. I just decided to start jerkin' my gherkin to everything that is Barrack Obama.

uhhhhhUHHH!!!!!!! wheww!..... *lights up a cigarette*
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
you dont have to click evry fracking link they post, don't like cats? skip the cat posts, dnt like politics? scroll to the next post. I think its a neat site, and wish there was a way to folow our politicians dicision makings.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME BITCHING, enjoy life!

keep it up neatorama.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
One more thing: I'd calm down but it's impossible as I grew up in a socialist state where I wouldn't have a fine life if I talked so much political bullshit as one of the posters above.

That .. "stuff" that's "going on in the US", which is identical to the "stuff" which would be going on if any other "democrat" was running your country, as Obama's policy is 1:1 the one of Hillary Cliton, isn't SOCIALIST.

Just keep your uninformed, stupid American mouth shut. In fact your democratic policies are so right-wing that in most other countries, emigration waves would follow after handing over that amount of power to what we call, a fascist.

Hilarious that the mention of the President's name causes so many here to lose it. Try this, real slow:

It's a tracker that keeps tabs on our President's integrity. That is all.

The President is a very important figure. His behavior affects all our lives. Here is a post that mentions an interesting new gauge for measuring that behavior. Breathe.

Hahahahah
No. 502: Get his daughters a puppy

Also for all the Obama whiners and complainers.
Other article blogs are just as all over the Obama craze as neatorama.
Suck it up and top being such babies.

DrJones wrote,
"The majority of us are getting annoyed and fed up with it. I can’t speak for the majority of us..."

Clearly you cannot. Clearly.

All nitpicking aside, my feelings on the matter are as follows. I don't mind politics. I like a good mix of topics on Neatorama. I also have this thing called a scroll bar on the right of my screen. When I see something on Neatorama that doesn't interest me, I SCROLL PAST IT. I don't click to bitch about it. If you don't like it, make a better blog. Good luck out there, scooter.

@Josh

Exactly. But everyone is so dick-hard for Obama, suddenly the rules don't matter. Come on buddy, reach down your pants and work on a semi-chub for Obama. I am on board!

Uhhhh!!!! UHHH!! more Obama posts, please! I tell you what, I feel like a pubescent boy again gazing at the bra and panty section of JC Penney.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
This "not a political blog" mantra has lost all meaning. A political post that you might legitimately protest would be a post that opines in one political direction or another.

Stories that happen to involve politicians but are simply fact-based do not cross this horrifying line so many seem so traumatized by. If you cannot abide any posts that mention anybody in political office, that is a simply a bizarre mental tic, not a justified reaction to an oppressive atmosphere of bias and political shilling on neatorama.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
@Josh

There's a difference between a political blog, and a blog that post political topics.
I think this was posted because it's a new and interesting use for graphs, statistics and current events.

If this post was more of a rant about a current or previous political figure, then i think more people would sympathize with you.

*face palm*

RE Thomas' note of my poor writing skills: I probably should proof read more! Hopefully my point is still seen despite the grammatical flub.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
I'm sorry and I apologize for the ranting.

This is just me very sad to see one of my favorite websites taken over by liberal politics. Sigghh.... I'll go crawl back into my conservative hole now. Goodbye Neatorama, may your neatness rest in peace.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
I love how any mention of Obama automatically summons the "you durn lib'rals always masturbating to 'bama!" nerds. Not just here, of course.

I for one haven't noticed excessive (or obviously biased) political posts on Neatorama. This link is genuinely neat and useful for keeping an eye on one who has promised us many things, whether you voted for him or not. To whomever questioned the usefulness of that, well... our politicians are supposed to be accountable to us. And even if we can't unelect him, we can at least not re-elect him if he fails us.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
This is an interesting blog. Interesting people are liberals. If you don't like it, check out some other blog.

Or keep moaning here - it's funny.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
No, the amount of Obama and political material is markedly increased from the political material when I first visited here. At that time, it was mostly confined to whining about George Bush in the comments section.
Now that so many posts are political and pretty much one-sided, it's kinda tedious.
Come on Neatorama, shake off your myopia and stand apart from "the other blogs". Show us some originality.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
I voted for McCain. McCain is many things, but not neat.

I think Obama fits nicely on this blog. Dogs that say "I love you," dancing cats, a four-year-old accordian player, lobsters held for ransom, shoes that turn into flip-flops, a Wall-E sandwich, crocheted valkyries, President Barack Obama.

If the owners of the blog think that President Obama belongs in that group, who are we to object?

@ violet
So "It’s a tracker that keeps tabs on our President’s integrity" eh? It'd be great if that was the deal, but it's not. It's already off the mark on one campaign promise that the publisher considers to be kept; during the campaign Obama said on his "first day in office, I would give the military a new mission: ending this war". That's a bit different than what he actually did, and even if I were a fan and supportive of a quick withdrawl from Iraq I sure wouldn't call that one complete. If that's a sign of how the so-called "Truth-O-Meter" is going to work... well I'd call it a fail.

Saying that the President's "behavior affects all our lives" is giving him a bit too much credit. His behavior affects your life in some instances, and others if you let it.

@ pazza
So "Interesting people are liberals"? It'd be more accurate to say that since you're a liberal you find other liberals interesting. In case nobody's mentioned it, the world doesn't revolve around you. You're not showing much maturity by thinking that everyone shares your tastes. Nor does the world revolve around Obama, much as most of the Neatorama post-ers would like us to believe.

No, I won't join the chorus of whining. You all post about whatever pulls your pin; seems to me the goal of posts like this is to get the readers more engaged, and what shows that more than comments on a post? They're just chasing numbers. And besides, like JMM said, the Obama stuff fits oh so very well with all the other fluff.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
@Dave: My point was predicated on its being what it purports, so yours is a legit discussion but doesn't really go to the essence of what I was saying.

And I don't say his behavior affects all our lives as some kind of hero-worship. I hope you didn't parse that as "his behavior affects everything about our lives." I say it because his actions will have an impact. Disputing that simple assertion seems like quibbling for its own sake.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
@violet

@Dave: My point was that the trend lately has been to give Obama a pass at every turn, and under very minimal scrutiny this tracker seems to be following along in lock-step. Too, too predictable.

Sorry, but I did assume that what you said was a form of hero-worship. There's an awful lot of that going on lately, and the guy hasn't done squat. And you won't catch me quibbling without good reason. ;o)
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
Is there a tracker on Neatorama on how many people bitch about its political blogginess...

I bet it'd be in the red...

The obama meter link is neat to some people as the talking dog is neat to some people...

NEATORAMA can't make everyone happy, that's not the point of this blog.

If you don't like it then stop checking out the website, it's that easy.
Abusive comment hidden. (Show it anyway.)
I think it's neat that I only see some people post only on the articles which have to do with Obama, and nothing else, yet they claims that there are too many Obama related posts. Had Neatorama not placed thoughts into his head and forced him to read these Obama related articles, this situation wouldn't have happened.
