Movie-A-Minute

Posted by Stacy in Blog & Internet, Movies & SciFi on January 18, 2009 at 7:11 pm

Wanna know what happens in a movie, but don’t want to take the time to watch it? Movie-A-Minute can help you. Sort of. OK, it’s really more for people who have seen the movie and want to be entertained by a brief synopsis that astutely points out its weak spots. For example, You’ve Got Mail:

(Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan fall in LOVE, and it is HEARTWARMING.)

America Online:

Please note how our program was used in this movie.

THE END

Their list of movies isn’t extensive, but the ones they’ve skewered are pretty dead on. I recommend The Lion King, Titanic and Grease.

Hands down the best one is the Matrix. It's almost word for word what I've been telling my friends for years.

Yeah, I always liked the Top Gun example of capitalizing important elements in a script.

    There are LOTS of JETS.

I've seen these a number of times before (and book-a-minute) and they never cease to make me laugh.

Mortal Kombat is the most accurate.

I think they meant that description for Sleepless in Seattle. You've Got Mail was anything but heartwarming.

Tom Hanks ruthlessly destroys Meg Ryan's life and she forgives him because she's lonely.

That was a kick in the teeth.

"They fall in love and it is heartwarming" could be literally hundreds of movies. This isn't a description!
