Harry Eng, the Master Bottle Filler

By Queuebot in Everything Else on Jan 18, 2009 at 8:22 pm

PuzzleMuseum.com has the story of Harry Eng and his amazing handiwork. The story behind the bottle seen here:

One evening Harry was in a London hotel and decided to visit the Puzzle Museum the next morning. When he and his friends had finished their bottle of wine, he took the bottle up to his room. He then filled it with a book of matches, menu, and the pack of cards as a gift for us. This is a particular favorite as he assured us that the only tools he had were a pencil and rubber bands.

i have witnessed a boat being built in a bottle and I’m STILL clueless as to how he did these things.

The box of cards might be folded in and empty but then why are there no fold marks?

    Wow.

the only way i can think of is somehow taking the bottom off and melting it back on or something, it makes everything easily possible

If thats how he did it Jenny, I think I’d be more impressed. I’d like to meet the person who can do melt glass with a pencil and some rubberbands.

You can cut steel bars with dental floss and toothpaste too. But melting glass back together with a pencil and rubberbands is different.

It would be more impressive if it were a pack of cigarettes but, in actual fact it is a pack of cards. This puzzle if you wish to call it that is actually quite easy to replicate.
