Oh my God! How did my two-year-old break into their house! The dog is just about the only thing that my son has not tried to draw on. Luckily, his main medium is chalk (he gets it by crawling out the dog door and raiding the sidewalk chalk). All of our permanent markers are high up and out of reach (which is probably more of a dare to him than a means of keeping it out of his reach).

@ Wynper - He must've been a lovely dog. :)

@ Leah - good thing he missed cutting more than the cat's hair! Like... its ears! O.O

@ Article - Well, kids are kids. xD The dog will grow it out though (if the suggestions above won't work).

Hairspray works wonderfully well. It's the alcohol in the hairspray that does the job. But it's diluted enough that you won't bleach or dry out or otherwise damage the dog's hair or gentle skin with it.

I got water-based house paint all over my dog once (well, he got it all over himself). I just wiped it off as best I could and let him shed out the rest.

This reminds me of the time my 4 yo used his new skill with scissors to trim the whiskers on one side of the cat's head.

The cat walked around leaning his head to one side for weeks afterward!

When I was little I would cover my Great Danes in stickers.

It will eventually fade away, once my dog got blue paint on her leg and since shes a short hair we couldnt just cut the hair. It will take a while, so maybe this guy should have a few baths to speed up the process

Captain was a loyal and large (90lbs) dalmatian who endured the kids dressing him and laying on him who gladly pulled the kids around the yard on their sleds or in the wagon. The goof actually liked to wear sunglasses.

He was protective and lovable but dumb as a box of rocks.

One day I came home and my kids had used colored markers to draw additional spots on him. At the top of his head there was an outlined spot that was labeled "Insert Brain Here"

I couldn't stop laughing when I saw that.

Cappy must have liked it. When he was feeling ignored he would pick up a pencil or pen and drop it at our feet. He's been gone almost fifteen years and I still miss him.

*sigh*

Ha! I used to get all liquored up and draw on my dog. He is a big mutt with lovely light blonde hair and never really minded my doodles. I once gave him curly "french" mustache. Please don't judge me.
