I had one of these that a friend had brought from Japan for me as a gift. I had to replace the batteries several weeks later, and the whole thing fried. It’s not a conversion issue (batteries are batteries, I think). Careful!

There’s an alarm clock I saw on Toxel.com that’s just as ingenious/obnoxious. It’s set on wheels an will move around to a random location in your room. To turn it off, you have to find it and with my luck, I’d probably find it and it would still evade me like a roadrunner cartoon.

I love this clock! Last year I ordered this online and it broke in the mail. Now I have a cute paperweight that makes REALLY annoying sounds if there are batteries inside.
