We watched this film last night and I am convinced I saw Paul McCartney and George Harrison in the crowd scenes where Fezzick is pretending to be the Dread Pirate Roberts, and Buttercup is being forced to marry Humperdink. My friend wasn’t sure, so I am now searching all trivia sites for someone to assure me I am not seeing things. Any help would be appreciated:-)

One of my Fav’s too. Guy I am seeing now, told me, “As you wish” after we had been seeing each other a short time & I was “captured” by his statement. He is to sweet sometimes. Things like that are what keep me putting up with his flaws. [Mind you, I have some too.]

Just one thing, though: the term “midget” is considered quite offensive to many. You should go with ‘little people’ out of respect.

Thanks so much, one of my all time favorite movies too. The blond young man looks like my son in law, so it made it personal. The castle information was especially interesting to me, as William the Conqueror is one of my ancestors (no, I am not bragging..nothing to brag about!) but can’t change history.

I did get a good belly laugh, and laughter is healing, so thanks again for the ‘behind the scenes’.

Stacy – thanks for the great article, there was plenty I didn’t know about one of my favourite movies I may have to watch it tonight, especially to look for the hat And thanks for putting the effort in, I may get the special edition for the documentries, currently just have the standard edition, as there wasn’t a good edition here in the UK.

I love this feature btw, more interesting movie trivia would be great I don’t care that there is trivia on IMDB, I think this will probably lead to me looking up films I haven’t seen before due to the interesting trivia.

@JamesM, I didn’t just copy info from IMDB, so hopefully this is slightly more worthwhile than that. I actually took the time to watch the documentary and watch the movie with Rob Reiner’s comments. I understand anyone with the DVD can do that, but not everyone has the time or the inclination. Just wanted you to know I’m not so lazy as to just copy IMDB information. I’m not saying I don’t use it as a source, but I certainly put more effort into it than that.

If you want great info on The Princes Bride, read Adventures in the Screen Trade by William Goldman (screenwriter of Bride). Thoroughly enjoyable!

Actually, I looked the book “The Princess Bride” better than the movie–except at the end. The movie had a much better ending than the book.

You need to read the book to understand why Fred Savage and Peter Falk were in it. and why is a funny story.

The Princess Bride was one of those movies that if you saw it when you were young, it would stick with you forever.

I must have been really young when I first saw it, but years and years later when I watched it again, I remembered so many parts clearly.

What an all around great movie for all ages!

I’ve seen bits and pieces of this movie, but never the whole thing in it’s entirety in one sitting. Now I have to get a copy of it so i can watch it. Sounds like one of those ‘cult classics.’

People used to say i looked like Fred Savage when I was growing up; I was very insulted by that because I never watched ‘the wonder years.’

I know some people really hate the series but I would love to see one on all of the weird things about the first Saw. Being a horror fan I personally loved the first movie, but not really the rest. It went down hill very very fast.

Like if you listen to the original commentary on the first Saw with both directors (not including older Wesley. Hehe.) they mention that they had to fly to the states with the creepy Jigsaw puppet in a suitcase and one of the directors comments, “I have never wanted security to not check my bags so much.”

Also, if you watch the extras on the dvd, they tell you that Andre the Giant who played Fezzik, had to have all his lines taped for him so that he could memorize them.
