I have these, they are really great, no maintenance and no metal parts.

I purchased something similar in a clearance bin of a garden center a few years ago. It is basket ball sized and the plastic is similar to that of a ping-pong ball.
It however has to be plugged in and it has an l.e.d. light, that can stay one specific color or change softly to diff colors.

I can see a real market for these things. Only from the pictures I see the boating industry falling for them, and also the farmers certainly will.
