20 Amazing Places to Bungee Jump

Posted by Miss Cellania in Travel & Places on December 30, 2008 at 10:59 am

Imagine bungee jumping off the Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa -it’s 710 feet high! Fantastic view, but um, I think I’ll pass. But you can watch others do it, because 20 Amazing Places to Bungee Jump has videos to go with each venue. Link -Thanks, Grzegorz Paslawski!

I've done this bungee myself and it was an absolute thrill, back in the time you could buy a VHS tape with the jump. The longlasting free fall was the best.

If you want to do this jump yourself, know that after the jump you'll be hanging upside down for quite a while before somebody comes down to turn your around and take you up again :-)

wait if you hang upside down for that long, won't you faint?

Agreed with the writer and Gail above...too high and crazy a stunt for me. Life is too short to be doing nutso things like this.

I did Bloukrans this year, which was especially amazing for myself, being a local.

I'm proud to say I jumped it at 16.

    Damn it was great!

Bloukrans jumper, myself. Worth every penny. You actually get about 3-4 significant plunges off one jump. My only complaint was the poor quality of the VHS tape. The scariest part was the walk across the catwalk suspended below the bridge. The freakiest part was feeling your vertebrae separate when the cord starts to yank you skyward. ;-)

The VHS tapes are a thing of the past. We've actually got computers now! They take several digital photos before, during, and after the jump. You view them and have them burnt onto a CD.

i did the pipeline in n.z. back in '96 twice, second time nekkid and backwards. back then, it was regarded as the tallest (so they said). was a total thrill. the ride to-from was damn near as thrilling! i'm glad the tallest listed in in the u.s.--i'll HAVE to hit that one this year!!! :)

I just want to thank Neatorama for this post. I looked into the Volcano jump, and I REALLY want to do it. Its now one of my goals in life, I started saving for it today.

    Thanks Neatorama!!!!!!!!!
