I wish present-day Christmas specials were this awesome.
The Wonderfulness of Cos' work was that other than the locale, its racial neutral, you could substitute your own growing up with his and there isn't a moment that doesn't ring true, truly a high mark of the craft Humor is universal
Was I strange, or did I find Fat Albert (the regular series anyway) about as funny as a paper cut for the most part? Same with Alf. Maybe i'm the odd one.
Do they even make Christmas specials any more? I used to remember a handful each year in the 80s...from Pound Puppies to Garfield to Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Fat Albert, though, was always in a class by itself. (Or like a snow day, Rudy, NO CLASS! hahahaha)
As far as 80s cartoons went, I was always a fan of Garfield over all the rest. I would always crack up when I heard him say "People like that need to be dragged out into the street and shot". Can't say that in a cartoon anymore, nope.
This was an odd experience for me. I have never seen an episode of Fat Albert, but I have seen Bill Cosby perform live. Strange to hear his voice in all of its intonations coming from different characters.

Yes christmas specials are still made. But I think they have to have a jewish person in it now.
