Fancy Dress Party at IKEA

Posted by Stacy in Everything Else, Funny on December 8, 2008 at 8:07 pm

IKEA is definitely nicer than my house… well, maybe not nicer, but definitely cleaner and more organized. So it makes total sense to have a party there, which is exactly what the people at Cockeyed did. Dinner at the buffet (why not? I could always go for their Swedish meatballs), then on to various dining tables and living rooms to play BananaGrams, Boggle and Catchphrase. Looks like a good time was had by all.

I don't think "fancy dress" means what they think it means. Pity.

You stain it, you bought it.

To a portion of the population "fancy dress" means a party where you wear a costume. To other portions of the population, it means a place where the dresses are literally fancy.

I think this does sound totally fun: very "Improv Everywhere" (which they mention).

Sounds like an awesome party! I'm a huge IKEA fan, and wouldn't mind hanging out in the store for awhile.

BTW, if you liked Bananagrams, you can play online for free if you have a Facebook or Bebo account:

I have both, and play a lot. :)

I work in fancy dress and for some reason the term fancy dress seems to apply to just two places: the UK and Australia, I don't know why but there you go. Now, I don't work for nor have I ever in IKEA, however I have considered camping in the one in Coventry
