Cell Phones: Vexing and Insolent

By Stacy in Blogs & Internet on Dec 8, 2008 at 9:05 pm

I’ve just recently discovered PassiveAggressiveNotes.com – it’s hysterical and I’m completely hooked. It reminds me of that episode of The Office where Pam posts the note about how disgusting the microwave is, but everyone just gets irritated with the anonymous person who posted the note.

I found this website about a year ago. I got addicted for weeks and have been meaning to go back.

Yet, this may be unwise since now I am in grad school, and time is everything.

Ohhh man. I love the fact that you alluded to the Office. Though to be honest, that last episode didn’t do a whole lot for me. My favorite season is definitely the second.

It’s easy to miss everything cool on the Internet. It’s so big. (It’s twoo!)

Can a phone be insolent? Use of it may be insolent.

Maybe it means that the phones CAN’T be used in the store (due to a cell blocker) because the owners are vexing and insolent?

That makes more sense too me.

And yes that is a grouse site.

@Mr Cat: that has to be the next big internet thingie…’Cool sites you couldn’t find because the internet is too big’.

On NYC buses, there are signs “asking” you to please not use your cell phone as a courtesy to others. Once, a bus driver refused to leave the stop until the old lady in front of me (who was talking quietly) got off her cell phone. So… I can talk to the person next to me, I can talk to myself, I can be one of the hundreds of crazies in the city who scream at themselves and others- but I MAY NOT talk to a piece of plastic next to my ear?

Someone with such a loose grasp of punctuation (there really shouldn’t be a comma after “in use”) and sentence structure (as noted, a cell phone is hardly insolent) who also uses excessive capitalization has a lot of nerve implying that others might need to check a dictionary for two fairly common words.

Insolent autonomous self-governing cell phones. Arrgh. I hate it when they achieve cognizance and begin to annoy the people surrounding them while inside coffee shops.

    The phones demonstrate dumb insolence.
