The Dixie Cup Prank

Posted by Alex in Food & Drinks, Pictures on December 6, 2008 at 2:37 pm

What could you do with thousands of dixie cups? Here’s a teacher-pranking-teacher moment, photographed for your enjoyment:

Every single one of those 10,000 dixie cups was full of water. It took 10 people 3 hours to painstakingly set those things up and fill them. Every single horizontal surface we could get to was covered. There were even dixie cups in the desk drawers.

I'd like to know how long it took to take down...

10,000 cups? seems like such a huge amount of waste.

I'd like for that to happen to me. I'd spend all day drinking from those cute little cups. But I would be forced to stop or else I would have drank enough of the cleaning substance they use to kill me. Still seeing this makes me thirsty. Not that I wasn't already thirsty, just a bit more. Hold on. Ahh. Just drank a full bottle of water without putting the bottle down. Darn. Now I have to pee.

So is this an obscene waste of paper or an obscene waste of water?

It takes twice as long to take it down. Graduating class tried that one at the school I used to work at. They filled up the entire front foyer.

Still, it's better than the goat incident the previous year was responsible for. ... or the year before that when they bricked up the auditorium entrance...

I did that way back in college to a "friend" in the dorms - only I stapled them together, so that when you tried to lift one, they all came up (or if they ripped the water came out anyway). Cruel now that I think about it.

Waste of both water and paper. I did this to a friend in college. What I didn't count on was that dixie cups don't hold water indefinitely. They get soggy and start to leak relatively quickly, so you're pretty much guaranteed to ruin things with water damage. Bad idea.

At least they weren't upside down and filled with water.

This is possibly the dumbest prank ever. Cleanup is going to be a hundred times faster....mop and broom everything and you're done in 15 minutes.
Wow, what a waste of time.

Just divert a passing marathon through there. That'll take care of it.

I'm not laughing. Agree with others...waste of time and dumb

I think that's pretty funny. Yes, a waste of resources, but at least it's not a prank where anyone can get hurt.

I don't think I had any teachers that cool
