Pants Don't Fit Post-Thanksgiving Binge? Try the Waistband Stretcher

Posted by Alex in Fashion, Gadget on November 29, 2008 at 1:19 pm

Did your stuff yourself so much on Thanksgiving that your pants no longer fit you? Well, don’t worry – here’s a gadget that will solve your problem:

When your waistband feels too snug, reach for the Waistband Stretcher. You don’t have to get rid of your favorite jeans, skirts or slacks thanks to this simple waist-band stretching device that lets you add from 1-5 inches (depending on size of garment) to the waist of cotton pants, skirts, and shorts. Just moisten the garment’s waistband, insert the waistband stretcher, extend the garment to the desired size and let dry – voila, a more comfortable fit!

Another useless piece of plastic junk.

    Neat!

Seems like that would leave the pants permanently stretched out... which I guess could be useful in its own way. =p

That may be all well and good for cotton blue jeans, but my wool slacks will just get all wrinkly.

No kidding. I was waiting for some idiot to say, "Get some exercise instead, fatty," because it's always ok to bash Americans and fat people around here.

But in all honesty, this is sort of a dumb product. Elastic waist bands exist for a reason.

I can see it now getting ready for a date pants are just a bit snug... do we pick something else. No grab the stretcher. The guys waiting for the girl and she's yelling just another minute the're almost dry. No wonder guys think girls take forever to get ready.

As a dedicated Denim nerd, these are mainly used for jeans. Denim purist like buying their denim unsanforized, which means they shrink when washed. Most jeans are shrink to fit, and sometimes people size down a measurement for a slimmer fit, and that's where this puppy comes in.

I'm not so sure this would work. How about some time on a treadmill? Or, wait for it, a bigger size?

These really do work great and i recommend you buy two. They go back to original size when re-washed. Great until you can loose a few pounds.
