my mom works with a woman who has a daughter named arcoma zane and had another baby girl who passed away named blayz (blaze) briceanne.

i used to go to church with a little girl named shonni (show-knee) and i went to high school with a girl named angelish (ann-ja-leesh). a friend of mine also knew a guy from high school named choeli (chay-lee).

i personally think it’s cruel when people give their kids stupid trendy names because they’re trying to be cool. my husband has an unusual name and was made fun of all through school. please stop and think before you name your kid!

FYI. saoirse is not Dutch or roman it is a Gaelic name meaning freedom. I wouldn’t shy away from traditional Irish spellings. they may be tough in the beginning but traditional languages such as Gaelic are dying out. if a Gaelic name is meaningful to your heritage, don’t shy away from using it. I’m named after my great-Grandmother, Marranda (pronounced just like Miranda). I also once knew a girl in Jr. high whose name is Nu’Tasha (pronounced like Natasha) and her little sister is Shy’L (pronounced Shy-Elle).

My Name is Jadzia Nerys pronounce Jad-zee-uhh Nur-ees. It comes from the names of two different characters Jadzia Dax and Kira Nerys from the Star Trek series.
