You want to know what`s really going on?? And what you feed your children and babies??? Then go google and type: ,,melamine found in…” and your eyes will go open!

Do NEVER listen to authorities who are telling you that evrything is ,,safe, we are watching, the contents is very low, you can give it your baby” and so on and so on. NEVER. They lie. All over the world high gouvernment officials, officers of justice and merchandizers are up to their necks in this multimillion stuff. BOYCOTT the chinese drinks and foods TOTALLY. That is the only thing you can do. That artificial rubbish you feed your babies, are you eating that yourself too??? No??? Than don`t give it your children!!! Feed them potatoes, rice, vegetables, whole-corn bread,etc. etc. en leave that poisonnous stuff where it is. Also in Chinese restaurants you eat melamine, you and your children. The only thing you can do is: Tell your family, friends and everyone you meet. It`s for you future health and that of your own children. And don`t blame the average Chinese man or woman, they are good people and also victims of these criminals!

I tried to breastfeed, and was actually quite good at it. Then I needed to take a medication when my son was 2 months old that could be transmitted through breastmilk and was known to be bad for a baby’s development. So I had to switch to formula. So no, we can’t all breastfeed. I wish I could. With my next child I plan on it as long as possible until they are weaned to solids. Unfortunately it can’t always happen the way we want it.

Goodness… how did we ever survive as a species without baby formula?

If formula is required, it should be a given that it is safe. I find it disturbing that these findings were covered up. Someone obviously cares more about PR than the health of babies.

Boobs FTW! My wife has nursed both our kids, and will nurse the new baby when it’s born.

No traces of melamine in breast milk. And I’d much rather see my wife get her breasts out than a bottle:)

Athon, perhaps you should find out what the word contamination means. Melamine is a poison that has no purpose in food products other than to defraud. No amount should be in American food products, and certainly none in infant’s formula.
At what point should the organization in charge of protecting the food supply be willing to share information about deadly contaminants found in food? Only when they’ve found enough for it to kill someone, which would of course mean with such a large food supply, that by then it would have already killed someone?

I never cease to be fascinated by people who demand more secrecy and lies from their government.

How ironic that tonight I’m celebrating the 11th birthday of my daughter who was not breast-fed. Today I also received her first 6th-grade report-card. Her average over all her classes is 95. (Her IQ is 2 SD’s above the mean.)

Of course breast-feeding is the best way to nourish a baby, but there are myriad reasons many women can’t. How mean-spirited to espouse rumor and innuendo to lay on top of the guilt already shoveled on our shoulders.

UM – I second what Artbot said. My girlfriend had all the intention in the world to only breastfeed our newborn. At six weeks old and loosing weight due to her low milk supply, (yes she is taking Domperidone) we had no choice but to put him on formula. Be mindful up on your horse. Mothers who can’t don’t need you making them feel worse.

UM – thanks for the thoughtful reminder. Thank goodness there is always someone to remind everyone how much better breast milk is, while apparently not taking into account that many mothers cannot, for one reason or another, produce adequate quantities of breast milk.

Perhaps you should have used the pre-amble, “For those mothers who are able to breastfeed, but choose not to…” But then again, those mothers probably don’t care what you have to say about it.

Trace amounts? I wonder if they compared any other products with the formulae. Or whether they searched for other trace contaminants.

‘Trace’ means minuscule amounts. The sad thing is if people learned that scientists found carcinogens in their morning weeties, they’d probably not wait around to understand what ‘trace’ means.

Odd. Only one of the seventy-seven formulas tested had any amount of melamine, but the FDA chose to hide the data instead of recalling one specific product.

Breast milk is best.

Breast fed babies have higher IQ’s growing up.

No formula is advanced enough to replace mother’s milk.
