Josh Jackson of Paste Magazine has assembled what he considers to be the best TV theme songs ever. Unfortunately, Exosquad and Robotech were not on the list, but I’ve got to agree with his selection of the theme to The A-Team at #28.

    That was a pretty good list. It reminded me of a lot of the classic tv shows that I used to watch in the late 80s and early 90s.

    I'm definitely breaking this out for the family gathering! Happy Thanksgiving all you Neatonauts!

    Wow. That was a great piece. It's funny how I know some of these songs because of them being covered by musicians or as tributes by other tv shows...but i never really knew the origin of them. Really neat!

    Great list, but it omitted Goldsmith's "Star Trek: Voyager," the theme music to "The Avengers" (paricularly the Diana Rigg episodes), and season one of "Space: 1999."

    Mike Post is the man, although I learned something new in that Henry Mancini was the composer for the "What's Happening!!" theme. Awesome! However, the geek-child in me is sorely disappointed that the theme for Buck Rogers the original BSG didn't make the list. Biddy-biddy goes pop.

    Whoops, obviously meant to include an "and" between "Buck Rogers" and "original BSG." Didn't want to be mauled by rabid fanboys/girls under the pretense that I made an amalgam of the two.

    I thought it was pretty half assed. Other people mentioned;

    The Odd Couple
    My Three Sons
    Mary Tyler Moore
    BOB FREAKIN NEWHART
    The Twilight Zone
    Taxi
    The Avengers

    Come on, make an effort. The Sopranos? That didn't even meet the criteria!

    Star Trek: TNG?! Pure cheese! The theme served to do nothing more than vaguely remind you that the show's first season was just a rehash of the original series' plots!

    But A-Team? Heck yeah! Airwolf theme would have been good, too. And what about Dark Shadows, or the Twilight Zone?!

    I'm glad they got Doctor Who on there, though, even if it IS the updated version. Hee hee, I guess I like my cheese imported. ;-)
