This actually is a great idea.

I love chess but never have the patience to sit down and play it for 20+ minutes.

Walk by, look for a minute, move, hit the button, one anonymous move after another, a victor emerges.

I really like the idea. But why not stretch the horizontal dimension to make it a true square format like most players would be used to..??

I think I would find the ‘rectangular’ playing area very …disconcerting.

Looks like a nice idea, but where are you suppose to put the captured pieces? That could get inconvenient pretty quickly.

My wife and I are actually playing a game of “when you walk past, take a turn” chess on our regular chess board at the bar.

This vertical board really is a neat idea!

I’ll have to find a marker for “last move” so we can keep track of it better…also a good idea.
