NaNoWriMo Progress

How’s everyone doing? I’m a bit behind – just over 22,000 words when I should be well over halfway at this point. But, I’m still chugging along, so that should count for something. Plus, I count on the weekends to catch up and was rudely interrupted by tailgating this Saturday, so… yeah. Poor excuse, I know.

And if you haven’t been following along, NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month – you have the month of November (and only the month of November!) to write 50,000 words and we have quite a few Neatorama readers participating. I need to up my game!! How are you guys staying motivated at this point?

Ohhh I’m struggling. I’m at 22,000 as well and realllllllly need to catch up before Thursday (gigantic trip full of laziness to be had).

Good luck catching up!! I expect a lot of coffee machines to be working over time this next week.

Good luck, ya’ll–this is my first time doing this. I kinda feel like a real slacker because I’m only at about half of what you all have written. However, I decided that even if I miss the deadline I’m going to keep writing the novel.

Time to caffeinate myself a bit more.

22,000 isn’t too bad, better than I had at this point last year!

I Hit 28996 last night. so I’m keeping a day and a bit worth of words as a buffer for the inevitable bad days I am likely to hit this week.

I’m flying this year. Crossed 42,500 this morning. At this rate, I’ll be done Thursday. My record is 25 days, so I’m definitely destroying it this year.

I haven’t bothered this year. Though I did Script Frenzy last year, and wrote my 25000 word screenplay in three days.

One downside of nano is the sudden urge to pad every work-related email that I answer.

My big problem with NANO is it encourages sloppy, overly long and droning writing.

You’re better off writing 30,000 good words than 50,000 mediocre ones.

I am at 28,345. It goes alright. Every time I open an e-mail or a chat window, I just can’t stop typing, though! I should put all that to good use, and keep it in my NaNoWriMo file…
