@Scotchdrnkr: As a bike commuter, I can tell you that whether you know it to be a bike rack doesn't matter a bit. Because when you are on the street looking to park your bike, you seek out the safest and closest options, whether they be racks, street signs, fences, rails, etc. Even where quality racks are available they're often full. Thus if it works as a bike rack, it is a bike rack.

Scotchdrnkr,

We cyclists are very good at spotting good bike-locking spots no matter how artistic they are... ;-)

How does the average rider now they are even bike racks?
I doubt if I'd use one of these sculptures as a bike rack unless I saw a sign near it saying so.

If you like such artistic bike racks you should come down to Toronto. We have some truly bizarre types of racks sometimes. :)
