I am with Tony here.
We get those bloody ads forced down our throat ALL THE TIME. You know why I use adblock and don’t feel ashamed the tyniest little bit? It’s not because I would not want to support good sites; it’s because I can’t stand it anymore. I won’t take this messing with my unconsciousness if I can help it. I don’t want to see or hear this nervous shite ever again. My mind has THE RIGHT to be left alone. We live with a constant stimulus overdose, and this sickens me. It makes me want to vomit. So for me, every ad I did not see or hear is the only ad I can and will accept. If I can’t get rid of the ads (zapping away, adblock and so forth) I just won’t consume the content around it. Same goes for games.

While someone like me wouldn’t pay too much attention to these things, I guess would be a bit pissed if I had to see Palin’s face in my home while I was entertaining myself. Of course if the price of gaming went down due to the ad revenue I’d be fine.

Sorry, but I want to play games for a little bit of escape, not to have advertising stuck in my face like it is 24/7 in the real world. Remember the once upon a time when gamers would have been outraged to pay $50 for a game and have it turn out to be adware? The foot in the door method of conditioning works, and the industry just keeps sucking and sucking.

Particularly with Obama, he won’t regret buying these ads. He’s already popular with the young voters, this would probably just remind them to get up and vote..which is the hardest part with this group.
