BLAH BLAH" Something tells me that old Framingham State isn't quite at the standards of other New England institutions of higher learning, so you are going to be dealing with third tier students, alumni, and yes employees working on devising fund raising schemes. Count me as one of the people that would donate because of a letter like that. It's honest and it made me laugh. In the same vein, I never give money to homeless people with signs that say they want money for drugs or alcohol. They're just confirming the preconception that they suck at life.
