Winking Sarah Palin in LEGO

I just wanted you to know that I've tried hard to avoid the temptation of posting a lot of political stuff on Neatorama because some of you get all worked up in the comment section, but I couldn't resist this one: the winking Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin in LEGO by ochre jelly.

Please keep the comment section civil, mmkay?

For the thousandth time, keep politics out of Neatorama, this is not neat, I come to Neatorama for....

whoops, sorry had a flashback there. Cool Lego structure there, I see the resemblance.

That's pretty neat. It kinda look like an alien-hybrid a little bit lol. And for real, people freak out over nothing with the politics, they need to get over it.

ok but which is the lego? are you saying palin is 'plastic'? hollow? completely put together by someone else? will fall apart easily? loved by kids around the world?

gtonr - I'm sure there's a missing gag about studs in there, too.

Adam Stanhope - I'm not American, so it's hard for me to tell, but it doesn't come across that way here. What is noticeable is that many Europeans that I talk to like Americans but don't like America. Something the US government of whatever colour might like to address at some point.

Alex,

The fact that a lot of people avoid politics fosters an atmosphere of willful ignorance of this important matter. Please don't give in to those sentiments. While politics is important, it really isn't something so special or different that it should be segregated from discourse and thought. And yes, it absolutely and frequently is neat. It's just another fact of life that's sometimes fun, sometimes frustrating (and sometimes boring, but now that would be outside the scope of neatorama).

Creepy picture, but it`s refreshing to see a politically-themed post that isn`t biased. At least until you hit the comments section.

Geekazoid - you`re hilarious. Funny how the finger-pointers at republican "trolls" still manage to whine about an innocuous post.

Adam Stanhope, how is this any indication of Neatorama's view of the USA?

@ Evil Pundit Troll?

I don't remember 100,000 people showing up for Palin anywhere.

So, Obama managed to come up with one big rally today, after weeks of lagging behind Palin in attendance.

It's still only half the size of the rally he had in Germany. But then, Germans love charismatic leaders with few accomplishments but catchy slogans.

Be political if you want. Offend. Do it. This daily visitor enjoys your posts. If he didn't, he could go elsewhere without much effort at all.

The internet is very big place. If some of your visitors feel offended by something that doesn't fall in line with their political views, they can make their own site or take a hike. Scolding you for expressing yourself on your website is just childish.

I looked at my comment again, Geekazoid - I was agreeing with you, but it looked like I was calling you a finger-pointer. Oops.

Anyway, it's funny how the bickering starts over something as innocuous as this.

Who the hell is that woman winking at anyway? Does she have a nervous tick in that eye? Does she just think it makes her cute? Just because it worked for the Miss Wasilla beauty contest doesn't mean it will work now.

She had one strand of hair that seemed to be bothering her: sticking to her eyelashes, causing her to blink a great deal. I noticed it because I don't like my hair getting in my face, and having bangs long enough to touch my eyelashes would drive me batty. So that was what I got out of the frequent blinking/winking that she did during the debate.

Thank you for not making a lot of comments on politics. There are plenty of other places to find incendiary comment. That is one reason I quit going to boingboing. You're doing a great job.

LEGO is neat, politics is neat.

Lying trolls are not neat, neither is feeding the troll by responding to his O'Reilly impersonations. Ignore and he will find some other bridge to snark under.
