I had a cat when I was a teenager that did this. I'd go to sleep with a glass of water on the dresser at the foot of my bed. I was awoken several times by the cold splash of water- and there was Church jumping off my dresser. Dont think she used her paws though.

Joe Martin has been doing an entire comic strip called cats with hands for years. The guy who does Willy and Ethel etc.

The idea of "if cats of had opposable thumbs" is good, but the execution falls short of the mark. Probably because other comics have done the idea so much better.

Ahhh but some cats do have thumbs. They are called polydacty cats. You betcha.
