It's never that I think Obama's some perfect answer or perfect person. It's just that the absurd contentions of the opposition sometimes get too ridiculous to ignore. I actually, while acknowledging my in-the-tankness for Obama, think that's fair.

not saying there aren't REAL people out there who know what they're talking about, and not saying i'm any better than most people. just saying it's pointless to argue these subjects because really, where does it get us? not like our opinions matter anyway. the government has been trying for a week now to convince us that a $700billion bailout bill is necessary to "save" the economy. they have even changed the verbiage to make it sound like we would be rejecting a good idea: they call it the "rescue plan" now. just by changing it from 'bailout' to 'rescue' they are manipulating us. they had no problem with spending trillions without our consent, why do they need it to spend another $700 billion if they're gonna push it until it passes anyway? and BOTH SIDES agree to it, so who's the blame on this one?

And I know it's difficult for someone on the Left to parse facts, but there is a difference between legal and illegal 'immigration'. Your average 'undocumented immigrant' has no interest at all in becoming a legal citizen. They just want to work in the US. Fact of the matter is that I'd love to work in Italy or England, but it's basically impossible. And if I get caught working illegally, I'll be deported or possibly jailed.

Know the difference....understand the context. Chances are you'll probably have to rethink your entire political thinking if you do.

The first few posts, except for Evil's were claptrap. Exams are meant to be hard. You study for them, and you may fail. If you fail, you don't get your citizenship. If you have little or no education, get some. You're in the land of opportunity, duh.

The true Test for us would be to take the test without having seen the answers. I think we would be surprised how many answers we would get wrong or have to struggle to answer.

This new citizenship test will require much more studying time.

Uh, don't you think that was the intent of the test writers? To weed out the people they think the country won't benefit from? Instead of addressing the possibility these questions will intentionally set some applicants up for failure, why not demand to know *why* they're doing it and what they're going to do to *fix* it?

Is that a bad thing, or a good thing?
