Teen Bleeds Through Her Skin!

Posted by Alex in Medicine on September 30, 2008 at 3:34 pm

A 13-year-old Indian girl named Twinkle Dwivedi has a medical condition that baffles doctors: she bleeds through her skin without being cut or scratched!

Twinkle Dwivedi, 13, has a strange disorder which means she loses blood through her skin without being cut or scratched.

She has even undergone transfusions after pints of it seeped through her eyes, nose, hairline, neck and the soles of her feet.

Sometimes her condition is so bad she wakes up with her entire body covered in dried blood.

Strikes me as similar to scientifically unexplained stigmata.

Nonsense. Corinne has it right, there’s some funny business going on here. (I assume she recognizes that unexplained stigmata are phony.)

Poor girl… You can’t do anything in that condition. Imagine taking a shower and always seeing blood in it. EEeek!

Sounds like she just has an extremely low platelet count.

I’m not medically trained but would a mild anticoagulant assist with keeping the blood from seaping out of her skin?

Is there a doctor in the house who could comment on this idea?

She’s going to have problems when she starts to menstruate. How will they keep enough blood in her?
