Exactly what I was wondering.
They’d probably get sued for a notice like that here in Canada. Not PC enough.
Since they state the “P addict” can be up for 7 days, I’m wondering if they’re referring to “peudoephedrine.”
Great ad though. If I was still in Nursing School, and living in New Zealand, I’d be all over a place called “Murder Burger.”
Am I the only one that noticed the redundancy in the title. It reminds me of the t-shirt “Department of Redundancy Department”.
No you aren’t the only one to notice the redundancy in the title, but judging from the tone of the whole notice, don’t you think that just maybe that redundancy was intentional? Just sayin’…
Well I applied.
I’m only about 10k miles away but it sound lie a good gig, and Ponsonby is meant to be nice in a small town way.
Fingers crossed.
“P” is short for methamphetamine down in the newest of all Zealands, as ‘splained by someone with a cat avatar on Flickr, or a cat with a self-portrait posting comments on Flickr….
Perhaps some bizarre merger between lolcats and icanhascheezburger to provide hilarious sustenance?
Yes – “P” is what the call crystal methamphetamine in New Zealand.
I don’t think anyone knows for sure why P is the nickname, but several websites I looked at advance the theory that it stands for “Pure.”
I…am actually tempted to move to NZ just for the opportunity of working at this place.
In Davis, CA near the campus of UC Davis there was a place called Murder Burger for a long time. But I drove by there again in June after many years gone and the old billboard now says Redrum Burger. So perhaps the P.C. crowd in Davis has gotten their way?
That reads like a craigslist ad, where someone is looking for a roommate.
Wouldn’t a place called “Murder Burger” welcome an employee who might “one day flip, grab a knife and become Mr. Stabby”?
I’m not sure if I’d want to eat at a place called “Murder Burger” anyway…

There was one in Rocklin, CA as well, when I went back for a visit… the place had shut down. The sign also changed since my visit to.. Yep. Redrum.
Too bad people in NorCal can’t just take a cheeky name and have fun with it.
Damn! I am an art student who’s looking for a job! Too bad it’s in NZ, or else I’d apply right now. Anyone know the work visa requirements for the country?
you guys did notice that murder=redrum, only you have to read it backwards, and lawyers don’t do that, so you are less likely to get sued or something
Hmmm, thats just down the road from where I live, I could always do with another job.
Too bad it will be full of people from Ponsonby! (atleast it isn’t Remuera though) :p
Well I got a reply to my futile application.
”””””””””””””””’
Hey hey
Cheers for this, not sure if i should be thanking the guy who posted it for the free PR, or wanting to unleash on him for the hundreds of spam emails i?received?over night
Here in Kiwiland a P addict is a person who is addicted to?Crystal?Meth

Ya gotta love a burger joint called murder burger whose motto is Meat Is Murder.
oh alright, thanks ryan and remf3. @Gail, i was also kinda thinking of that… cat meat burgers hehe
Is that in South Auckland?
where ‘once were’ is set?
Great a Mr S, on p and b yelling politics at me from outside the place.
Sounds interesting. Do you suppose the training includes a bit on the talking sh1t part?
Wonder if there’s a barber shop upstairs. Hmmm.
Larfin Jackarse > Ponsonby is central Auckland, and quite different to South, it’s more of a cafe/restaurant/restored old homes suburb. It’s quite Ponsy.
Good to know, Polx.
Meat is Murder? Sounds like it may be a vegetarian joint.
