Einstein Ring

An Einstein Ring is what you get when light is "bent" around a massive object (in a process called gravitational lensing).

Albert Einstein predicted this in his general theory of relativity and was proven right when the Hubble Telescope spotted the first complete Einstein ring in 1998.

Astronomy Picture of the Day has a really neat photo of the SDSSJ1430, a Galaxy Einstein Ring: Link
