Remember with "mutts" were the ones you could get for free or $5-$10? I've had dogs all my life, both mutts and pedigrees, loved all of them and would now make a mutt my first choice. Actually, the last time we were at the vet they said she was probably in such good health because she had enough "mix" in her to be spared the hip and ear problems that often affect older German Shepherds ...
