Whip me, beat me, make me write bad checks, but tell me you love me.

This information doesn’t really surprise me. Think about who you hold a grudge against the longest. Someone who hurt you physically or mentally. A dumped girlfriend will hate her ex for a long time but a physically beat up girlfriend keeps going back for more. (not all women react this way but lots do)

Is that why women keep having babies even though childbirth is supposed to be one of the most physically painful experiences? If you really remembered how bad it was, you wouldn’t want to do it again.

For the sake of our planet, that wouldn’t be such a bad evolutionary adjustment. Make the pain more memorable… cut down on the surplus kids.

No question about this. How many times does one cringe in embarrassment for something stupid that one did 20 years earlier? I can tell you that it happens to me occasionally (llike right now, ouch … ouch).

    Physical pain is not remembered.
