   Feh, that ain’t a colourful lake. This is a colourful lake. 8^)

   Lake Vui is located on Ambae island in the South Pacific nation of Vanuatu. It underwent a transition from beautiful, tranquil turquoise to bright blood red over the course of a couple of days. While the event occurred during a significant increase in volcanic activity, scientists were never able to adequately explain what caused the sudden transformation.

   Ambae is best known to the world as the ‘Bali Hai‘ of James A. Michener’s timeless Tales of the South Pacific.

   These Environmental Graffiti articles all fail to walk the talk they talk. A picture through a sunglasses lens now counts as one of the 25 most colorful lakes in the world? Or lakes at sunset? Any lake can be golden at sunset. Plus, as Idil mentioned, some of these are hardly bigger than puddles.

   This isn’t the only example; remember the lists of creepy trees and creepy clouds?
