Man Wanted to Remain Standing, Even in Death

Angel Pantoja Medina has an unusual last wish. The 24-year-old Puerto Rican man wanted to remain standing, even in death:

A funeral home used a special embalming treatment to keep the corpse of 24-year-old Angel Pantoja Medina standing upright for his three-day wake.

Dressed in a Yankees baseball cap and sunglasses, Pantoja was mourned by relatives while propped upright in his mother's living room.

His brother Carlos told the El Nuevo Dia newspaper the victim had long said he wanted to be upright for his own wake: "He wanted to be happy, standing."

If that's what he wanted, it's not hurting anybody I s'pose - but I do wish you hadn't posted a picture of him on the front page, that was something I really didn't want to see =(

i showed this to my wife and mentioned that maybe i'd like to something like this if i ever die, but maybe be standing by the door with my hand extended for a hand shake. she said no.

creep-tastic. i don't think i'd be able to be in the same room with him. i can't even walk up to a coffin without the underlying fear the person is going to sit up and grab me.

Angel Pantoja Medina died while using a curling iron to stimulate his prostrate and it was plugged in.

Just kidding. But he will forever be remembered as a moron.
