The Likelihood of Death

We all have a 100% chance of dying -eventually. Today’s Lunchtime Quiz at mental_floss tests how well you know the odds of dying in different situations for different people. I scored 100%, because, well, I read a lot. Link

Wow, of all the quizzes you’ve posted this is the first one I’ve got 100% correct. I guess I’m in touch with my inner cadaver.
I got 100% correct, too.
I hope that doesn’t mean I’m more likely to die.
Well the one I got wrong was the Tennessee / Sth Dakota one. Which is not surprising considering I have no idea where either one is within the US, or anything else about them for that matter.
Every now and then I get upset about the American slant behind the global phenomenon of the WWW.
There’s an absolute clanger of a question in there, and it’s the one I got “wrong”:
“How much longer will the average Asian woman live than the average African-American man?”
Uh, yeah. I interpreted “Asian woman” to mean “Woman who lives in Asia”. The quiz writers meant it as “Woman of Asian descent who lives in America”.
I interpreted “Asian woman” as “a woman who lives in Asia”… and I got it right. For that question, I was thinking of Okinawans…
And I’m not American, and I still got 100%. While the quiz was somewhat biased towards Americans, it doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t know some trivia.
Okinawans? I was thinking of India and China, which will of course dramatically dominate any “average” figure.
