Dandee --- Yeah; I was also surprised her name wasn't mentioned in that writeup. Carmen Miranda.

Also, does anyone remember Snapple's brief (no pun intended) ad run involving Fruit of the Loom-style fruit-costumed people? These costumes lacked faces --- they were just the fruits, with legs on them. The lemon had some great gams on her...

It may not be true, but the Chiquita banana mascot is modeled after a 1940's Hispanic (S. American?) singer/actress whose name escapes me currently.

She was famous for being extremely vivacous, bubbly, highly talented -- and -- wearing a similar headress.

"[Hägar the Horrible] manages to appear in 1,900 papers every day, even though it's the only comic less funny than 'Hi and Lois.'"

Clearly you haven't read the comic strip "Crankshaft".

My grandpa has about 30 California Raisin figurines that he collected from Hardee's forever ago. Although, he was friends with the Hardee's workers. EVERY weekday morning he would meet his friends at Hardee's for coffee and a sausage biscuit. I don't think it took too long to collect all of them!
