T-shirts only cost about 3 bucks a pop to have printed in volume at the most – just because they don't profit 15-20 bucks a shirt doesn't mean they have some magical free shirt printing machine.

There's no reason a t-shirt should cost the consumer much more than 15 really, that's just ridiculous, it's a shirt!

Actually Shirt.Woot.com prints their T-Shirts on American Apparel t-shirts, which when bought in bulk cost upwards of $5 a shirt. Woot does REALLY high volume each day, so they may get an even bigger discount.

Shirt.Woot.com has a new shirt every day for $10 until its sold out or the day is over (midnight Central Time). You can continue to buy the shirt for $15 until they retire the shirt. Shirts are retired if after a certain amount of time they are no longer being bought.

Shirt.Woot.com gets all of their shirt ideas from users. Mon-Thurs they feature shirts from other t-shirt companies and designers. Fri, Sat, and Sun they feature shirts from a Woot derby where users submit their designs and are voted on. The top 3 winners get their shirts printed. They receive $1000 cash if their shirt gets printed and $2 a shirt for every shirt ordered after the first day.

In order to vote for a shirt, you have to have an account and have purchased something from Woot.com, Wine.Woot.com, or Shirt.Woot.com. They've also teamed up with Yahoo and created Sellout.woot.com.

So yes, they can put these shirts so low because they do such high volume. They've been doing Shirt.Woot.com for a year now and they've sold around $500,000 worth in t-shirts. Come on, can you beat $10 a shirt? No tax, no shipping!

$50 on two shirts? I screen my own shirts and it may cost $50 for an entire run. If it cost $25/shirt there would be no independent silkscreeners

@ Moon

Yeah, if we're talking about the mass production lines made at shops with automatics, but I will always support independent silkscreeners. It actually costs about $50.00 in products to make one or two shirts with a one-color print.

(including shipping - how do they do that? Must be volume!)

Because it costs like a dollar to make a t-shirt?? T-shirts are the biggest scam ever hoisted on the American public.

shirt.woot is great. You don't have to order today, they'll continue to make the shirts for at least a week, but the price goes up to 15 after today. So it's not a big deal that it's probably gonna sell out today.
