Clearly Closed: Blog about Closed Shops with Open Signs

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who ever noticed shops, clearly closed with dark interiors, all locked up nice and tight, but with a blazing neon sign that said "Open." Here's Daniel Wanderman's new photo blog Clearly Closed, which aims to fill a specific niche documenting shops who commited the "open yet closed" faux pas: Link - Thanks Daniel!

this is hilarious.. in my tiny alaskan town i worked at a gift shop for a few years, and my first night closing by myself, i committed this crime.. it was a saturday, we closed at 6pm, i went home, then out to dinner with my family later. we drove past my work and.. BOOM! there in the darkened window blazed our neon OPEN sign. i was so embarassed, the boss was out of town till late sunday evening, and no one else had keys!

she kept me around though.. had a pretty good sense of humor about the whole thing, though i got my share of ribbing.. tiny town and all!

That could get kinda boring as a blog concept, I think.

However, there is a comics store very near my house who ALWAYS leaves their open sign on. 24/7/365. Drives me bonkers.

Many of my clients leave the "Open" sign on as an indicator to the police. They have an agreement that if the sign is off, there is a problem.
