Tamien Bain robbed a McDonald’s at the age of 14, served 12 years in custody, and has made the top five in McDonald’s Big Mac chant competition. You can read more about his story of redemption here, and listen and vote for the finalists here. Via Obscure Store.

(Yet another story at a newspaper website that doesn’t actually link to the website it’s about.)

What? No one has a comment for this lonely thread?

    Ummm ok.

If he thought he was buying food at McDonalds then he was the one robbed.

That’s the best I can do.

these are all bloody terrible. The first one, even though it’s in spanish, is no better than this failed Ween jingle for pizza hut: http://www.chocodog.com/chocodog/ween/ween_new/cheese.mp3

There should be a “please don’t subject me to any of these” option. These all sound like soundtracks for drive-by shootings.

    Stefanie, your racism is showing.

    I thought 3 and 4 were good.

Well at least that guy can back up his jingle with street cred.

Why did a 14 year old get 12 years for robbing a Mcdonalds? That’s shocking. Oh well, his jingle was the best on there!

Crimes committed with guns tend to get massive punishments.

Wait a second, how is there any racism involved? Rap/urban music tends to be popular with the very same young male demographics that commit most drive-by shootings, regardless of their color. When’s the last time you heard about a drive-by where the assailants were blasting Perry Como or Cher or Fats Domino or Yoyo Ma?

Race has absolutely nothing to do with it, but the fact that you made that assumption is pretty telling.

    *Agrees heavily with Stefanie’s rebuttal*
