Research like this is a total waste of money??? They will learn the feasibility and cost of capturing cow farts and the amounts of methane released. Sounds like if X < Y they profit and reduce emissions.

you know that most of the methane a cow makes comes from it’s mouth rather than it’s rear. they got the wrong end

Rather than try to reduce the output, couldn’t they put the collected gas to good use – it’s flammable – would make a renewable fuel.
