Wow, that’s pretty much free advertising for Apple there. They use “pod” instead of “iPod” for copyright cover-your-ass purposes, but then they do the headphone cable outline silhouette style graphics.
Plus of course the mp3 player itself looks suspiciously like an iPod, though I’ve never seen one of those things belt-mounted Blackberry-style like that.

In Canada, they plan to do this at border crossings.

They want our pods! The pod people have run out of their own! Soon they’ll be after our triffids!
(and once you realize that both figures are facing the same way, you can see just how terrifying the pod-people’s appearance is — with their backwards feet and one massive upper lip)

I’ll give you my iPod when you take it from my cold, dead hands!
Or is that gun? I don’t remember.

I live in Lambeth. It’s not the nicest part of the world, there is crime but, fortunately, I’ve never been a victim. What good do these posters really do, though? Other than to foster a climate of fear. Maybe that’s part of their real purpose?

I agree with Jan. At first sight I thought this was an Apple ad, and no one will stop using the “pods” in the streets just for a billboard.

No mugger steals my iPod or I just might go all Joe Horn on his ass and shoot him in the back with a shotgun.

I think they are just to lazy to select their own music

I thought “pod” was a euphemism for something else.

Too bad the UK is a society of victims, waiting patiently for armed criminals to ask for their stuff. I would guess that even using one’s fists to try to protect their “pod” would result in criminal charges against the true victim.

@dragon tryst
Fake iPod sounds awesome idea. What do you use for it? Also would be cool to put a mini explosive in which triggers when you press play- but then Pod victim falls victim to more important law of anti-terrorism.
No poster-warnings there, just surveillance and arrest.

Putting signs up sure beats having an effective police presence!
The inclusion of the complaint line, sorry, Crime”stoppers” phone number is a nice touch too.

Ah, a pun, or a play on words. But I digress, this sign shows prejudice against people who wear puffy down jackets.

Actually I was going to suggest puffy down-jacket man is the potential victim here. iPod guy seems to have the shirtless Bruce Lee thing going on… my guess is he’s going to put a roundhouse kick on puffy before he can say “Gimme that…”
