This New Business Announcement Wasn’t Exactly the Kind of Publicity Desired
Hey, any publicity is good as long as they spell your name correctly, right? Well, maybe not so much with this one:

Only one year jail for murdering and dismembering his wife?
He didn’t go to jail. It only says he “spent more than a year in the Quad-City spotlight”. That would mean he wasn’t even charged with the murders. The ad is a true statement but whether or not he actually killed anyone is not evident.
Wow, my parents life in Davenport. I’ll have to check it out next time I visit.
He did go to jail, a simple google of his name takes you to a Quad City Times article;
“He murdered his wife, spent two decades in prison and lost his chiropractic license. He went from living in a beautiful home called a “castle” by some to moving in with his parents.”
HA! I grew up in the Quad Cities and that’s awful and hilarious at the same time!!!! I will NOT be visiting that place what-so-ever. The infamous house was very close to my house growing up and it still gives me the creeps everytime I drive by it now. His house wasn’t very big at all, in fact…very modest.
And yes David, he was in jail and he did kill his family. He was rather famous in the Quad Cities for this. One of the few things that the Quad Cities is known for besides flooding. oy!
I love it…. a way for the paper to let people know who really owns the restaurant and give them the opportunity NOT to spend their dollars there.
We have a situation like that in our town, where a local eatery owner was charged (several times) with molesting some of his 15-year-old help. He’s serving time but the eatery is still open and I carefully explain to everyone I know why NOT to spend their money in his establishment….
Wow! I grew up in the Quad Cities but I have never heard of this guy.
Yeah I definitely get the Quad City Times, and pretty sure that’s where this is from.. I don’t remember the guy though.
A quick google search pulled up a pretty pathetic story of James Klindt and his “restaurant” – complete with a photo of his sad little taco stand.

On the one hand, he’s served his time. Maybe he should get a second chance. On the other hand, I probably wouldn’t want to eat there.
I guess some people will buy tacos no matter whose hands made them.
We’ve never met his wife
I like how the article says he learned to make tacos from hispanics while in the joint
I grew up in the Quad Cities too. We used to drive by James Klindt’s house when we went to visit my grandparents.
I remember also that he dumped her body in the Mississippi. I wasn’t allowed to do much fishing in the river that year…
Sounds like my kinda guy. Fire that grill up, buddy. I’ll take a thigh ! Oh, and gimme a breast too. He may be the cook, but she really makes the meal !
Did you know she had dandruff? They found her head and shoulders in the river. Ok that was uncalled for
