Vector Photography

Photographer Andrew Bush mounted a camera in his car to catch drivers in Los Angeles and elsewhere in the southwest between 1989 and 1997. Then he posted the 66 most interesting ones. Link -via Metafilter

Is that dude reading while he drives?
I really don't get these.
I don't get why they're "vector"...
Me neither...
I love them. They'd be great framed.
The blonde in the pink vette is sublime
I don’t get why they’re “vector”…
Vector: "A quantity, such as velocity, completely specified by a magnitude and a direction."
He gives the speed and direction of each subject.
He actually caught Angelyne on camera.
there are a lot of really crappy old cars in these.
reminds me of Australia
ah. *that* vector. there must be a lot of graphic designers here, because i was equally as confused.
on a tangent - what's with all the vintage cars? most photos are from the 90s, yet the vehicles are either 1960 and 70s vehicles.
Looks like the artist liked those vintage cars the best. There is no telling how many pictures he didn't use.
Awesome!! I've always wanted to do this. That they're all at least 10 years old makes it all the better too!
He's game, taking random fodes of strangers on highways. Woulda thought someone would get upset.
Blonde in pink Vette addendum- check out the dude in the background.
Tried to look at them. Looked boring, and kind of invasive.
Makes me wonder if the dude has a gallery of upskirt pictures.
the chick in the pink vette reminds me of the Barbie doll I melted in the microwave!
I hope he at least took a picture of that guys license (the one reading while driving). Yeesh!
the chick in the pink vette looks like a drag queen
I didn't look at all of the photos, but it seems to me that he shot them with a flash. If I was driving 70 mph on the highway, the last thing I would want from a car that was overtaking me would be to flash me and potentially freak me out ...
Couldn't he have used high-speed film instead?
High-speed film wouldn't give the same effect. Some of them look like photoshops.
