When they auctioned off lunch with The Oracle of Omaha last year, it went for $650,100. This year a lucky bidder and up to seven friends will dine with Warren Buffett at the Smith and Wollensky steakhouse in Manhattan. The proceeds of the auction go to benefit the Glide Foundation of San Francisco which provides services to poor and homeless people. Bidding starts at 7:00PM Pacific Time tonight (June 22, 2008) with an opening bid of $25,000. I’m not sure what I’d want to talk to Warren Buffett about, but for $650k, Smith and Wollensky had better serve some exceptional steak. [SF Chronicle/Associated Press]

A shrine for Warren Buffet should include at least a couple of cans of cherry coke.

Holy crap, he did die. 71... I thought he was 65-ish. Anyway, totally unrelated (but still sad)

Hell, if anyone could afford that much money for lunch with Warren Buffett, they've probably already met the man. Rich people all hang out together, right?
