It looks cool but..
How do you wash it? Wouldn't it be easier to get dirty?I'm so confused...

I liked how the lights turned on, and the hood peeled back to reveal the engine.
The only thing I didn't like was how the cloth material made this scrunched up creases when you opened the door. If they were to solve that I think the design would be spectacular.

I guarantee you it isn't canvas.
You don't think there aren't strong/fire-resistant/washable textiles in the world?
This isn't some material your grandma knits all day.
This is the type of thinking that makes me have some faith in car companies in the future.
Until then... stickin' to the bicycle. -

I love BMWs. I have a 328i and love it. This would be so cool if it makes it past the concept stage. (crosses fingers)

Looks cool. I especially like how the guy assumed we didn't know what any of his "big" words meant.
"GINA is an acronym, or a collection of letters. Geometry = Shapes, Function = How things work, Adaptations = Changes"
Thanks, Bill Nye!

@ sam.
I noticed the same thing! It makes you think the guy's a tool.
Geometry = shapes! OMG eveything makes sense now!

Fine until some idiot with a pocket knife comes along. And I think you'll find that the skin of a regular car adds a fair amount to the structural integrity.

Of course he's a tool, that's Chris Bangle. He single-handedly screwed BMW out of its classic look and gave us such disgusting cars as the 3 series, 5 series, 7 series, and 6 series. Oh, and the Z3.
Thanks, Chris!

How does "F" fit in that acronym?
I think he just named it after some chick, and made up the rest later.
Really stupid concept.

and what happens when you get this dirty or drive for hours in the rain or snow. and what happens when it gets wet, freezes and then thaws out? Does it lose its elasticity? This is just a joke and will only be in a museum

I thought it was a G = NA (Geometry in "N" Adaptation), although I thought that ted was right too. It should've been GFINA.

A great idea...until you get into a crash. The rigidity of the metal bodies of cars is one of the most basic defenses a driver has in a collision.

Rhyne is almost right on everything concerning the destruction of BMW Design at the hands of Chris Bangle. His only mistake is that he blames Bangle for the Z3. While Bangle was responsible for the Z4 (the successor to the Z3), I believe the Z3 predated him. In any event, while the Z4 is ugly as sin, the Z3 was quite a good looking roadster.

Chris Bangle has been the ruin of BMW. Aren't there any Germans who can design a car anymore? Did they have to bring this idiot over from the U.S. to screw up their entire styling? Oh yeah, I-Drive sucks as well. We don't need a mouse/trackball/AtariPongPaddle to change the radio.

Since this Concept over seven years old it is quite adequate to exhibit it in the BMW Museum while waiting of the future.
BMW is overrated they are as exiting as the IRS, especially if you are insider !
