it's not that they have DEVELOPED a taste for human flesh considering human flesh is no different from other flesh. i mean, if we threw barrels of dead chickens into the ocean and the sharks came after them, would they be developing a taste for chicken? no. sharks eat, and if little timmy just happens to be dangling his tasty feet in front of a hungry mouth, he can't too surprised to feel a sharp and painful nibble.

"They think the 10ft-long fish could have developed a taste for human flesh after devouring hundreds of corpses dumped into the sea by mobsters."

Puts a whole new spin on 'chumming around'

or it could be with all the shark tourism out there and constant chumming of the water they could be linking humans with food......there's an interesting article in the smithsonian magazine about that, this month.

@ Scotchdrnkr

I have to agree. If the food supply of a predator is dwindling (probably due to over fishing) they tend to look for other sources of nourishment. In this case tasty humans.

Eh ... a story pulled from The Sun? Doesn't that make an already far-fetched notion seem downright ludicrous?

I really doubt if sharks are developing a TASTE for HUMAN flesh. More likely that their regular food supply is being eradicated so they have to hunt in different areas. for food. And we just happen to be playing in the water where they decided to hunt. Don't what to be shark food stay out of the water.
