2) Who woud be stupid enough to go straight to the trigger and pull it?
3) Whas there anyone in front of the desk?

A few things came to my mind when I saw this clip.

    1) Why have a loaded gun in plain site at the office?
Depends what the office is used far. Maybe a Security guard set it down far a second to do something. Then the idiot that pulled the trigger walked in. Could be a gun shop or pawn shop in a very bad part of town and they need to keep a loaded weapon close at hand.

    2) Who would be stupid enough to go straight to the trigger and pull it?
Again some idiot who hasn't got the brains to chew gum and walk at the same time. What the hell someone that dumb is doing in a place that might have guns around I have no idea. But he sure as hell wouldn't be working for me anymore. But anyone who has to work around any dangerous machinery should have at least the basic training to not get hurt.
    3) Was there anyone in front of the desk?
I hope not. And judging by the reaction of the person sitting at the desk I would say NOPE. They would have reacted different if somebody got spattered all over the office.

I know in bad areas there are guns at towing companies, pawn shops, and bail bond stores.

It looks like the camera's up against the wall. Walls. The forgotten casualties of gun crime.

Note that the gun wasn't merely loaded and in plain sight, but it was cocked with a shell in the chamber and the safety off. Yikes!

My guess: that was her boyfriend wandering around waiting for her to get done counting so they could leave. he wandering, looking out of place with his hands in his pockets and he just pokes and touches everything he sees.

Grabbing that gun was pretty stupid though.

Regardless of the establishment, you don't set down a loaded gun without first engaging the safety-- even if it's only for a few seconds. That's common sense. Also, you don't set a gun down where it's easily accessible to ANYONE other than yourself(or other employees).

It's took two jackasses to make this video possible. The jackass who carelessly abandoned the gun, and the jackass who pulled the trigger.

Was someone hurt? There appears to be a wall behind the camera. This is not a customer service desk; however, the shot could have passed through the wall and injured someone in the adjacent room. No way to tell.

    LOL.

See, this is why I feel growing up with guns is a good thing. I learned at a very young age how to handle and respect firearms.

I wish there was a link to a newspaper article. I'd like to know more about what happened.

That baby's got some kick on it. All joking aside, who the hell would leave that there? They ought to have their permit revoked.

Adam said it; who is the jackass who put a gun down with a shell in the chamber and the safety off? Just asking for an accident. That's just stoopid.

@kid_icarus - no damage means the wall probably isn't drywall
hopefully the recoil broke the idiots finger

I'm pretty sure a shotgun at point-blank could put a hole in cinder block.

    @ oshean: Touche.

Also, if you look just to the left of the wastepaper bin, a large splotch (blood?) appears suddenly at 0:19...

This is why the whole "open-carry" business is stupid.

Because idiots like this can get easy access to deadly weapons.

Oh, good eye, Locke -- that sure does look like blood!

you like how he just walked in, gently wrapped his fingers around the trigger, and gingerly pulled it like "oh i wonder what THIS does?"

Well where are you supposed to keep your shotgun? Cubicles don't tend to be very spacious.
