Pun Stores

A business name should tell you what kind of business it is, and it should be memorable. This one certainly is! Best Week Ever has pictures of 50 storefronts featuring giggle-inspiring puns. Link -via I Am Bored

Ha, I’ve actually driven past a Curl Up & Dye before (lots of punny hair salons out there).
The first time I encountered a Curl Up and Dye salon was in the movie Earth Girls are Easy. That was a funny film!
On St. Simon’s Island, Ga. there’s a store called Pane in the Glass.
Here in Macon, I had to get a wheel replaced on my car after hitting a mean pothole. I found a store called Hubcap and Wheel, and the guy gave me a card with his name on it, and the card identified him as a “Hubcapitolist.”
Ah, my favorite is here in Simi Valley, California: Indiana Bones and the Temple of Groom (yes a dog’s groomer) – it’s out of business now.
In Melbourne, FL, there was a Jamacian restuant called ‘Jamacian Me Crazy’.
There’s a great fast Chinese place here called “Wok n Roll”, and another called “Wokaholic”.
I think Curl Up and Dye also appears in The Blues Brothers, where Carrie Fisher is seen reading the manual for a flamethrower while doing her nails.
As a central New Yorker, I have to give mention to Sherlock Homes real estate in Auburn.
Haha…I gotta say, I know it was only the second one in the list, but “Just Falafs” made me giggle a lot…
There’s a carpet store I know called
Walter Wall Flooring
in the same county there’s a pub called
The Nobody Inn
hey, #48 is in my town! We’re famous!
And ‘You damn dirty grapes’ is now in my random weird quote repertory due to its shear awesomeness .
There are a few on Haight Street in SF; Haight to Wash laundromat is my favorite, although Haight Mail is pretty good too.
A hairdresser’s near my house: “Natural Born Clippers”
A local pub: The Dewdrop Inn
That’s the best I have… I like the Marquis de Salade though ^_^
Brilliant! Unfortunately, a lot of the best ones appear to be going out of business.
i got a big giggle out of ‘Master Bait and Tackle’ as a kid in my hometown
i posted without reading the whole thing – they mentioned master bait and tackle! who the hell’s ever gone to east haven, ct?!
