2008 Needles in the Head

By Miss Cellania in Body Modifications on Jun 4, 2008 at 9:17 am

Dr. Wei Sheng has Olympic fever, and he’s displaying his support by sticking 2008 needles into his head!

In a bizarre publicity stunt, Dr Wei Sheng pierced the decorative needles in his head, face, hands and chest in the five colours of the Olympic rings.

The picture of Dr Sheng’s was taken in Nanning, Southern China, and demonstrates the patriotic fervour among the Chinese people in the build up to September’s Games.

He seems to have substituted white for blue in the Olympics colors. Any speculation that Dr. Wei might be an acupuncturist? Link -via Arbroath

I wonder if they have the same “patriotic fervour” when it comes to torture and censorship…

Surely, if Acupuncture was real it would be a physical impossibility to place 2008 needles in your own head without hitting so many energy pathways (or whatever) that spontaneous combustion would certainly ensue.

Ah yes moodindigo, since acupuncture is a purely fictional treatment that’s only been around for a few thousand years, your uninformed prediction must be true right?

The truth is that if anything, he would get an energy boost from activating all of those areas at once (Since that is what acupuncture REALLY does, after all).

That and looking like he has chicken pix on his head when they come out haha :D

*pox. argh. sorry. And i hope I didn’t offend too much, moodindigo. It’s just that people who make uninformed speculations on proven traditional practices is a pet peeve of mine.
