this guy although he has killed fish its an amazing feat and by the way the oicture quality says that these fish were caught along time when fish stocks were better so you asses better chill out about how he kills endagered fish. you guys are just like the idiots who attacked the guy who caught 1000 fish because af alledged mass fish kill.

While many forms of fishing are destructive and there are unscrupulous people out there who simply catch and kill there are also many who are avid conservationists and show a great concern for their quarry.

It is often these anglers that do more for the fight to save the oceans and protect the fish than the commercial fishermen. I am sure that the number of fish released during the years of chasing this achievement far outweigh the number kept, and this is the real achievement.

If you want to kill animals for fun…try the really common ones, as the sports fiser man items are all uncommon to rare to endangared.

Try Hunting Politicians, there seems no end to their numbners.

I used to do big game fishing in the Mediterranean. My dad had a world record on tuna at some time. You have a technical and scientific optimisation to it, a patient wait looking at the sea, the thrill of the fight, and for some (count me in) the tasty cooking.
Yes, you have the fun, No, the fish is not wasted. For example, all the Mediterranean big game fishing contests in France were giving the sales benefits to the cancer fighting charities.
I remember the days when we would cut a tuna, and simply BBQ it + thyme/rosemary/oregano + olive oil and give it around to the happy neighbours.. Good times….

On a darker note, it’s been years we haven’t caught anything : pollution, yes, but especially agressive overfishing killed all the big tunas. In the Mediterranean northern fleets are now fishing in Lybia’s waters, in tuna’s reproduction/spawning areas. Industrial fishing has killed everything.

Zyg is going to hold his record for a long time, unfortunately.

I think it’s just very, very sad that a lot of people consider killing animals for fun as “sports”. I have absolutely no objections to go hunting or fishing for food, but just for the thrill of killing or for some obscure titles – that is plain perverse.
So many endangered species (esp. sharks, e.g.), so many people starving to death, energy crisis, pollution… and still some rich braindeads travel the planet to kill animals for fun.
Mr. Zyg Gregorek is in my opinion one of the world’s greatest idiots.
