Some factual errors, but most simply due to often repeated incorrect original source material. However, a big error here is the fact that Lazarus Colloredo and Joannes Baptista Colloredo were not conjoined twins. Their case is an example of parasitic twinning.

Also, considering Siam no longer exists, the term ‘Siamese Twin’ is not only politically incorrect and medically inappropriate, it’s now also a physical impossibility.

    From imdb:
“She doesn’t always go by George, just sometimes when she is role playing and pretending to be Lori’s son rather than her sister. Apparently Dori’s need to be separate from Lori takes the form of creating new personas for herself sometimes.”

The Schappell sisters are insufferable. Have you seen their interviews?

Isn’t it weird how at least 3 of these sets were in North Carolina at some point?

Have you heard “George” Schappell’s singing before? Its really indescribable. I suspect miss George is has neamed herself after George Jones now she’s over Reba.

Re: the Biddenden Maids - Nobody really knows if the twins existed or exactly how they were configured. However, they would not have resembled their popular image in any event. In conjoined twins and autosite/parasites, the connection is always axial — that is, they are joined at the torso or head. They might share a limb, but the connection starts at the torso. There would not be a shoulder connection like we see here, with a separation below, followed by a connection at the hip. The gap would be filled with tissue, anything from skin to ribs and internal organs.

The image of the Biddenden Maids might be a stylized representation. Or, more likely, it began as a bit of folk art depicting two sisters or friends walking with their arms on each others’ shoulders; the story of the conjoined twins possibly came into being later as a response to the odd-looking folk design.

There was a short-lived musical on Broadway about the Hilton twins about 10 years ago. It was called Side Show. Not completely accurate, from what I’ve read later, but still a great musical.

so is it normal for one twin to die first, and what the hell happens to the other one when that happens????

the other twin, since they share a common circulatory system, can’t physically handle circulating for both bodies, and the dead blood, gases etc. eventually kill the living twin through blood poisoning. so not only do you have your dead twin hanging off of you for hours, but you’re slowing dying a usually painful, feverish death. fun!
