This is what to do when you find a raccoon in the dumpster. It happened several times at my former workplace, and we kept a plank nearby for such occasions. -via Arbroath

I also just wanted to post to decry the choice of soundtrack.

I think that was a good choice of music, it seemed fitting. Raccoons can be really mean if you get them cornered but damn it they're cute. I'm glad someone was there to help him get away.

Why not just keep the dumpster closed so raccoons can't get in them in the first place. I live in bear country; we get black bears (and raccoons) in our dumpsters if we don't properly secure our garbage.

Good job helping the little guy out but "an ounce of prevention...".

I once used my shoelaces to rescue a rat from a sewer grate to the soundtrack of Phil Collin's "Against All Odds."

When I lived in an apartment complex years ago, they never had lids on the bins so raccoons would get in there all the time. They kept boards next to the bins for when one got stuck. Every time they figured how to get out. They are cute little things.

Hasn't Celine written "My Raccoon Will Go On" yet? What's the delay, eh?
